You may not recognize my name, but you may remember my daughter. Jaime was just 14 years old when she walked into Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School for another day of classes on February 14th, 2018.
That day changed my life forever.
The grief and anger I felt drove me to fight back against the special interests and corporate gun lobbies who’ve let violence become a part of our day-to-day news cycle. Since then, I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to ensure no family has to go through losing a loved one to gun violence again.
For too long, the NRA and major gun lobbies have had a chokehold on our democracy. Their greed has had devastating consequences.
It’s never been clearer that we need leaders in Congress who will take real action to close dangerous loopholes that let the wrong people access dangerous weapons. We need leaders who will stand up and fight for a better future for our children.
Since being elected, Tim Ryan hasn’t hesitated to use his voice to demand accountability from those same special interest groups. He’s someone we’ve been able to count on to not just talk the talk, but take real action to stand up for American families.
The race for Ohio’s open Senate seat will be the most important in 2022. The NRA is poised to spend millions to take on Democrats like Tim who’ve been consistent advocates for gun reform.
