CNN reporter: Trump was 'basically screaming' during Castor's defense arguments

I’ve seen roller coaster accidents that were easier to follow—and less unnerving—than that gory mess Trump counsel Bruce Castor presented earlier today.

To say it was shambolic and meandering is to insult anyone who’s currently lost in a mall parking lot.

I was half expecting a big novelty hook to pull him offstage at any moment.

Multiple people tell me Trump was basically screaming as Castor made a meandering opening argument that struggled to get at the heart of the defense team's argument.

In fact, the Trump defense team’s blather was so underwhelming, it prompted one GOP senator, Louisiana’s Bill Cassidy, to essentially flip.

Trump is really lucky the fix appears to be in, because if this trial were being decided on its merits instead of on the predictable cowardice of Republicans, the vote would be 100-0.

Guess it will be up to historians to judge the ocher abomination. Luckily, that won’t be too difficult.
