SC-Sen: Protestors Show Up At Two-Faced Coward's House Over Supreme Court Hypocrisy

Love it:

Over the past several years Republican Lindsey Graham has acquired the reputation of a flip-flopper. Once a detractor of Donald J. Trump, the senator from South Carolina is now one of his most loyal allies. As the debate over who will fill the seat of the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg heats up, his hypocrisy is taking center stage.

On Friday, following the death of Ginsburg, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said that the Senate would confirm Trump’s nominee, despite the country being less than two months away from an election. Over the weekend, Graham said he supported the decision. In 2016, however, Graham’s position was that a SCOTUS nominee should not be installed during the last year of a president’s term. He even went as far as saying Democrats could use his words against him if the situation should ever flip.

Dozens of Democrats have done so and on Monday, more than 100 demonstrators gathered outside the Republican leader’s home in Washington to call the Senator up for reelection a “two-faced coward” and a “hypocrite.”

You can watch below:

Graham truly is a two-faced coward:

“I want you to use my words against me,” Graham said at the time. “If there’s a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said, ‘Let’s let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination.’ And you could use my words against me and you’d be absolutely right.”

Graham reiterated his stance in 2018 during a forum with The Atlantic, stating that “if an opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term, and the primary process has started, we’ll wait until the next election.”
But Graham now seems unfazed by his pledges.

“I fully understand where [Trump] is coming from,” Graham tweeted Saturday in response to the president’s statement that the GOP has an “obligation” to fill the Supreme Court vacancy “without delay.”

And Jaime Harrison (D. SC) has been using Graham’s words against him:

We have a real chance at getting rid of the two-faced coward and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee is all in to help Harrison take down Graham. Received this e-mail today from PCCC:

First, so you know the main message of this email: To hell with Lindsey Graham. We need to replace him in the Senate with Jaime Harrison, who the latest Quinnipiac poll shows tied with Graham in a 48-48 dead heat. Please donate $4.80 or $48 to defeat Graham NOW.

If Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell try to dishonor RBG by pushing a right-wing Justice, it will need to flow through Graham — head of the Judiciary Committee.

In 2016, Graham said: “I want you to use my words against me. If there's a Republican president in 2016 and a vacancy occurs in the last year of the first term, you can say Lindsey Graham said, 'Let's let the next president, whoever it might be, make that nomination.' And you could use my words against me and you'd be absolutely right.”

In 2018, Graham said: “If an opening comes in the last year of President Trump's term, and the primary process has started, we'll wait to the next election.”

Today, Graham showed he's an unprincipled coward, saying: “The two biggest changes regarding the Senate and judicial confirmations that have occurred in the last decade have come from Democrats. Harry Reid changed the rules to allow a simple majority vote for Circuit Court nominees dealing out the minority. Chuck Schumer and his friends in the liberal media conspired to destroy the life of Brett Kavanaugh and hold that Supreme Court seat open. In light of these two events, I will support President @realDonaldTrump in any effort to move forward regarding the recent vacancy created by the passing of Justice Ginsburg.”

Republican strategist Matt Down replied, “Ummm, after these two events happened you said you wouldn’t vote to confirm a justice in an election year.” Even Karen Tumulty, longtime journalist at Time and Washington Post, said, “This is 100% pure horse manure. 'These two events' both happened before.”

If we defeat Lindsey Graham it's a two-fer. He's gone from the Senate and McConnell is gone as Majority Leader. So please dig deep. Whatever you would normally donate, please donate double to HELP JAIME HARRISON DEFEAT LINDSEY GRAHAM. Donate here.

Thanks for being a bold progressive — and honoring RBG.
