Journalist on Trump stealing election: I'm on street going all Crispus Attucks & Thomas Paine

The inner-militant emerged from the Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist today. Ali Velshi pointed out that Trump unlike most presidents went there. Where? Donald Trump gave the impression that he would not leave the presidency voluntarily or peacefully after a reporter queried him on the subject.

“He does not believe in democratic institutions,” Eugene Robinson said. “He believes in Donald Trump.”

Simple enough. But then Gene brought some inner-militant.

“Look, this is where I say,” Robinson said. “Bring it on. I am a journalist. Right? I am not an activist. I don’t belong to a political party. I cover demonstrations. I don’t participate in them. I don’t even put out yard signs for candidates. That’s because I am a journalist, an opinion journalist, but a journalist. That is what I do.”

Eugene got a bit more profound.

“If this guy actually tries to mess with the process and the results of our election,” Eugene Robinson said. “Then I am not a journalist anymore. I’m in the streets because this is fundamental. I’ll go all Crispus Attucks and Thomas Paine at that point. Because this is our country. This is an essential part of our country. And I won’t stand for it. And I believe the American people won’t stand for it either.”

Eugene is right. The major pushback to Donald Trump from those he least expect it from may be closer than he thinks.
