In a recent question someone posted a comment saying "Protesting for Palestine (and thus against Israel) is not inherently antisemitic". In my view, there's a wide range on this topic, just like any other. Is supporting two-state solution "for Palestine" or "against Israel"? Is suggesting that Palestinians were wrong to start the current war "for Palestine" or "against Israel"? Is suggesting that Palestinians refusing cease fire proposals and refusing to release the hostages is wrong "for Palestine" or "against Israel"?
I've seen similar arguments on other topics. For example, supporting Ukraine is "against Russia". Supporting Taiwan is "against China". Supporting the rights of racial minorities is "against law enforcement". Et cetera et cetera.
Why is it that people see everything being either for or against in political discourse? Does it have anything to do with the prevalence of the two-party systems in major countries?
