Cindy Hyde-Smith Attended All-White ‘Seg. Academy’, Took $1,000 Contribution from Former Klansman.

“JACKSON, Miss. — U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith attended and graduated from a segregation academy that was set up so that white parents could avoid having to send their children to schools with black students, a yearbook reveals.

#A group photo in the 1975 edition of The Rebel—the Lawrence County Academy Yearbook—illustrates the point. High-school cheerleaders smile at the camera as they lie on the ground in front of their pom-poms, fists supporting their heads. In the center, the mascot, dressed in what appears to be an outfit designed to mimic that of a Confederate general, offers a salute as she holds up a large Confederate flag.

#Third from the right on the ground is a sophomore girl with short hair, identified in the caption as Cindy Hyde.

#The photo, and the recently appointed Republican senator’s attendance at one of the many private schools that was set up to bypass integration, adds historic context to comments she made in recent weeks about a “public hanging” that drew condemnations from across the political spectrum.”

And, if that isn’t exactly surprising news get this:

Her campaign was gifted $1000 after the public hanging comment by this dude…

George Malvaney

Splinter

A new report in the political newsletter Popular Information shows Hyde-Smith’s campaign recently received $1,000 from George Malvaney, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan who, hold on, just read this shit. This is incredible. Per Popular Information:

“”Malvaney was discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1979 after he organized a Klavern aboard a combat ship. Following his release from the military, Malvaney was part of a failed plot by white supremacists to overthrow the small Caribbean island of Dominica. The bungled operation is known as the Bayou of Pigs.

The attempted coup was disrupted by federal agents in Louisiana before it started. Malvaney and his co-conspirators were found with “eight Bushmaster automatic rifles, 10 shotguns, five rifles, 10 handguns, 10 pounds of dynamite and 5,246 rounds of ammunition.” The men also had “a large red and black Nazi flag.””

Malvaney, who is now a businessman, served three years for trying to overthrow a government and now says he is rehabilitated from his Nazi past…so I’m sure he supports Hyde-Smith for her position on the Capital gains tax.
