Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D. MA) in support of Tony Evers’ (D. WI) gubernatorial campaign:
I’m writing to you today to let you know that I am all in! I’m proud to support Tony Evers’ campaign to defeat Scott Walker and get Wisconsin back on track. This is one of the most important races in the country, and it’s critical that Tony wins.
Tony and I are both educators by trade and at heart. We share the deep conviction that every single student, regardless of zip code or economic status, deserves the kind of excellent public education that can serve as a foundation for a successful life.
We both believe in expanding access to affordable health care, a woman’s right to choose, a strong public infrastructure, and a democracy that represents voters, not the kind of radical right-wing donors that have used their influence to enrich themselves at the expense of Wisconsin’s well-being.
With access to unlimited money from extreme right-wing donors like the Koch brothers, Republicans are airing TV ads that lie about Tony’s record.
Government is supposed to work for us; but time and time again, Scott Walker has ignored the health, safety, and economic security of the people he’s supposed to represent, acting only to serve the small elite group that can afford to flood the political process with unlimited money.
That’s why it’s so important that Tony is committed to stopping corruption and ensuring that every single Wisconsinite’s right to vote is protected. Tony understands that stopping corruption and the influence of the outside special interests is essential to fixing problems, and I couldn’t agree with him more.
Thank you for standing with me and supporting Tony Evers!
