Trump’s first instinct was to delay addressing the spread. Trump kept the numbers down by suppressing information and testing. He tried to reward profiteering rather than meet needs. And then there’s the kind of pathological lying in daily briefings that mimic his campaign hate rallies, including the incessant shifting of blame to a host of scapegoats.
