For context, Trump has threatened to veto the National Defense Authorization Act, the legislation that funds DOD and includes a pay raise military service personnel, if it in any way mandates renaming of military installations named for traitors — Confederate military personnel.
It is long past time for the names of these traitors to be removed from US Military installations.
And I suspect that if in fact Trump were to veto such a bill, it would hurt him politically among the military (which has a higher percentage than the population of people of color) and he might even have his veto overridden.
