Uncle Joe Still Has Bad Judgement and Arrogance to Boot.

Joe Biden has not done himself any favors in the last day.  First up, he has demonstrated again that he has bad political judgement, arrogance, and won’t acknowledge, “I fucked up.”

Former Vice President Joe Biden said Tuesday that he wished he “could have done something” to prevent the attacks against law Professor Anita Hill that followed her sexual harassment allegations in 1991 against now-Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.

“To this day, I regret that I couldn’t get her the type of hearing she deserved,” Biden said at an award ceremony in New York honoring students working to combat sexual assault on college campuses. “She paid a terrible price. She was abused through the hearing. She was taken advantage of, her reputation was attacked.”

I don’t know Joe.  Republicans seem to know how to run committees to stifle Democrats.  I recall many a Republican chairman running over Democrats in both the House and the collegial Senate.  You were only the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

This is a lovely demonstration of your bad political judgement because you let that hearing become a circus that rescued the Thomas nomination.  And Supreme Court Justice Thomas is the gift who has kept on giving and giving for 26 years now.  For those who forget, Thomas only got 52 votes for confirmation.  If Biden had done a proper examination of the allegations against Thomas, there is a good chance he would not be on the SCOTUS.

Then there is the arrogance and lack of acknowleding that you fucked up.  After all this time, you have never really apologized for your lack of leadership during the Thomas hearings.  Republicans may love their so called leaders to never apologize because it shows “weakness,” but I’m reasonably sure that Democrats are not going to forgive you if you do not properly ask for forgiveness.  Democratic voters can be forgiving, but you non-apology to Anita Hill is not cutting it.

Next, Biden decided to leak the idea that he would serve only one term and his VP would be Stacey Abrams of Georgia.  Biden was hoping to overcome the “old white guy” charge by having Abrams as his VP.  Well, Stacey Abrams is not going to play second fiddle to you.

Former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) all but ruled out being Joe Biden’s presidential running mate when pressed Wednesday to address rumors that the former vice president is courting her for the role.

“I think you don’t run for second place,” she said on ABC’s “The View,” sparking cheers from the audience.

“If I’m going to enter a primary, then I’m going to enter a primary,” she continued. “And if I don’t enter the primary, my job is to make certain that the best Democrat becomes the nominee, and whoever wins the primary, that we make sure that person gets elected in 2020.”

Oops.  Sounded a little arrogant to me to be spreading those rumors that Stacey Abrams would be happy to be your VP.

Just a reminder:  I liked Joe Biden when he first ran for president back in 1992.
