TX-Sen: Sen. Cory Booker (D. NJ) Helps MJ Hegar (D) Give Coronavirus Cornyn (R) The Boot

2 min read

MJ Hegar (D. TX)

Received this e-mail today from former presidential candidate, U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D. NJ), in support of MJ Hegar’s (D. TX) U.S. Senate campaign:

MJ Hegar is Texas tough: she's a U.S. Air Force veteran, a mother, a teacher, a fighter for the people in every sense of the word — and right now, she's running for the U.S. Senate.

Unlike her incumbent opponent, MJ believes in protecting and improving the Affordable Care Act, defending reproductive rights, and taking bold action to address climate change. And she knows we can't achieve that with the divisive partisanship and gridlock we've seen from Republicans like her opponent. It's going to take new leadership to get the job done.

With a surge of grassroots support across the country, MJ is doing the unthinkable: she's moving closer and closer to flipping a seat that hasn't been held by a Democrat since 1961.

A new poll from Morning Consult shows this race tightening, with MJ moving three points closer to victory in the general election.

If we're going to flip the four seats needed to take back the Senate in 2020, we need to win in battleground states like Texas. I know MJ has the strength, courage, and independence to put families first and be a leader for the people in the Senate, but she needs support from people like you to get there.

Will you help us win this crucial seat in Texas and flip the Senate by splitting a contribution between MJ and me to keep up our momentum?

— Cory
