I’ve always been passionate about politics and have had the chance to meet a number of candidates running for office over the years.
To be honest, sometimes I’m hard pressed to understand why that person is running. What makes them think they’re the right choice? What makes them qualified to represent the community they’re running in? What makes them think they’re a leader?
But with Cristina, this isn’t the case at all. When I met Cristina and learned about her long record of service and advocacy, I said to myself,“How lucky are the people of Texas.”
She is courageous, experienced, compassionate, energetic, and real. Someone who is as real and honest as her is rarely found, let alone in politics. That’s why she’s exactly the kind of person you want running for office and there’s no doubt she’s the best person to turn Texas blue and defeat John Cornyn next year.
However, I also understand that this is an uphill battle.Cristina is facing opposition from establishment “leaders” who are scared of the change she represents and heavy outside spending from Republican-affiliated groups who feel threatened by her bold, people-first agenda.
