As the saying goes, to err is human, whereas to err; double-, triple-, and quadruple-down on the erring; and then take out a Sharpie to alter an official government weather map before denying you did so is oh-so-Trumpian.

For some reason, Donald Trump’s new press secretary, Stephanie Grisham, thought it would be a good idea to tweak CNN over its brief mislabeling of Alabama as Mississippi in a recent weather graphic.

It didn’t go well.

Yup, this woman represents Donald Trump. The guy who still doesn’t understand the difference between the U.K. and England. The guy who repeats debunked claims so often The Washington Post had to create a brand-new fact-check category — The Bottomless Pinocchio — just for him. The guy who is so fucking insecure he couldn’t simply own up to having mistakenly said Alabama was in the path of Hurricane Dorian — who’s such a gormless pud he managed to spin an innocent (though, granted, inexcusably sloppy) mistake that could have been corrected in seconds into a four-day story … and counting.

This guy.

And she has the gall to call CNN out over its error — which the network immediately corrected.

Meanwhile, Trump has never really corrected anything. If it somehow manages to implant in the rocky soil of his suntan-lamp-drenched cranium, it stays there, like a weed.

But, sure. CNN makes a factual error every once in a while and invariably corrects it.

Try again, Stephanie. You’ll get the swing of this. You have a lot of extra time on your hands, after all.

Is Trump still chafing your arse-cheeks? Then Dear F*cking Lunatic: 101 Obscenely Rude Letters to Donald Trump and its breathlessly awaited sequel Dear F*cking Moron: 101 More Letters to Donald Trump by Aldous J. Pennyfarthing are the pick-me-up you need! Reviewers have called these books “hysterically funny,” “cathartic,” and “laugh-out-loud” comic relief. And they’re way, way cheaper than therapy.
