Trump Speaks to Nation . . . Uh, No, He Doesn't [Update: Maybe Tomorrow . . . or Maybe Not]
When there is a national or international crisis, when serious events are upon us, Americans turn to the one person who can unite the nation, the President of the United States, for explanations, for reassurance, for leadership.
The White House was preparing the IMPOTUS to take that role tonight: The White House is making plans for President Trump to address the nation tonight
As President Trump confers with his top advisers tonight at the White House, aides are making urgent preparations at this hour for him to address the nation after Iran fired missiles at US forces in Iraq.
The specific timing of the address is still to be determined — and could be delayed, as information is being gathered — but two officials tell CNN that a speech is being prepared and plans are being made for Trump to speak tonight from the Oval Office.
Uhhh… not so fast. Trump Will Not Address Nation Tonight
PBS has no more information than that:
WH spokesman Judd Deere just said at the WH: “The president is NOT addressing the nation tonight.”
Maybe the WH staff is having trouble coaxing him out from under the bed?
