This mob incitement helps Trump resign in order to get his pardon from Pence.
The current bit of pseudo-coup is still about kayfabe and scripting. The first WH staff resignation by Stephanie Grisham has just happened because of this violence.
Trump’s resignation could happen simply because this latest attack on Congress facilitates the award of Pence’s pardon of Trump, not due to weaseling but for something, something reasons(sic), prior to the inaugural.
There won’t be a 25th Amendment invoked because there aren’t the cabinet votes. This is more about a Nixonian exit because he cared about the presidency. Trump can frame this for his base as a principled(sic) resignation with more grievances on which to base future grifting.
NEW: Trump initially rebuffed and resisted requests to mobilize the National Guard, according to a person with knowledge of the vents. It required intervention from White House officials to get it done, according to the person with knowledge of the events.

White House officials were shaken by Trump's reaction to a mob of his supporters descending on the Capitol today. He was described to me as borderline enthusiastic because it meant the certification was being derailed. It has genuinely freaked people out.

Based on images on TV, the 6 p.m. curfew in DC for the rioters at the Capitol doesn't seem to be being enforced with the same vigor that curfews were enforced against people who rioted in DC last year.

and now the disinformation begins for what is a reprise of the Michigan state house attack by armed RW protesters.
Now Sarah Palin, on a Fox "news" show, says "we don't know who all were the instigators in this of these horrible things that happen today, I think a lot of it is the antifa folks" per "pictures she was sent, no response at all from Martha MacCallum.

Holy shit. Matt Gaetz just said, "some of the people who breached the Capitol today were not Trump supporters, they were masquerading as Trump supporters and in fact were members of the violent terrorist group antifa." pic.twitter.com/nKYecLmQEX

Sarah Palin, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity — the rightwing machine is getting busy claiming rioters were antifa in disguise. This isn't just saving face — it's reichstagging, setting up a rationale for martial law.
