The “Everything Terrible Trump Has Done So Far” Omnibus (Week 161)

2 min read

As part of the ongoing project to catalog every awful thing the Trump Administration has done as a reference for future political arguments and whatever few posterity survives to see 2020, here’s everything awful the Trump Administration has done this week.

1811. Referred to himself as a king

1812. Pushed for the CIA to kill Osama Bin Laden's son over higher priority targets

1813. Deployed border patrol to sanctuary cities

  1. A Federal court struck down Medicaid work requirements the Trump administration had encouraged
  2. After Trump's DoJ intervened in the Roger Stone case a national association of Federal judges called for an emergency meeting to counter political interference

1816. Initiated an ICE crackdown in New Jersey and elsewhere

1817. Pardoned 11 highly corrupt individuals including Rod Blagojevich and Michael Milken

1818. Insisted on keeping marijuana illegal

1819. Backed Oracle in a copyright case that will make future software development more difficult

1820. Moved to outlaw collective bargaining in defense industry unions

1821. Pulled funding from flood mitigation programs

1822. Used confidential therapy notes against children

This week Trump expanded the swamp by pardoning several highly corrupt people and interfering in the case of Roger Stone. Elsewhere he initiated an immigration crackdown in sanctuary cities, moved against defense industry unions and bullied migrant children in therapy.

As always, I don’t expect to catch everything, so let me know if there’s anything you think I’ve missed. The full omnibus is being maintained here (a spreadsheet version can be found here). For an overall summary, click here.
