There were a lot of smaller developments throughout the week as the administration imposed a number of low key administrative moves which none-the-less could bring considerable consequences, such as weakening the endangered species act, imposing abortion restrictions on Federally funded clinics and trying to decertify the immigration judge’s union. However perhaps the biggest development for the administration came as a result of things that didn’t happen this week. Namely, the stock market has been tanking for the better part of the week in response to threats of an escalating trade war, particularly as economic data suggests its beginning to have a real impact on the global economy.
