The “Everything Terrible Trump Has Done So Far” Omnibus (Week 133)

2 min read
As part of the ongoing project to catalog every awful thing the Trump Administration has done as a reference for future political arguments and whatever few posterity survives to see 2020, here’s everything awful the Trump Administration has done this week.

1515. Cut legal funding for victims of human trafficking

1516. Threatened to suspend journalist Brian Karem's press pass, apparently in retaliation

1517. Abused government surveillance powers

1518. An ex-FBI official said the administration is “facilitating and enabling youth to commit terrorism”

1519. Sued by states over fuel economy penalties

1520. Caused the top scientist at the USDA to quit by burying his research

1521. Gave half hearted responses to to mass shootings,  incorrectly saying they happened in Toledo and blaming violent video games

1522. One day after China sent stock markets tumbling with retaliatory trade measures escalated the trade war further by labeling China a currency manipulator

1523. Imposed additional sanctions on Venezuela

1524. It was reported that an Iraqi man died as a direct result of being deported

1525. A judge ruled that the Trump administration cannot withhold public safety grants for Oregon

1526. Reauthorized wildlife killing cyanide bombs

1527. Sued by California for failing to release his tax returns

It was a very eventful week. On the one hand, Trump continued to refuse to address the white supremacy that he himself has fueled which has motivated mass shootings, deciding instead to blame violent video games. Meanwhile, the trade war continued to intensify as stocks went tumbling after China enacted numerous retaliatory measures against the US.

As always, I don’t expect to catch everything, so let me know if there’s anything you think I’ve missed. The full omnibus is being maintained here (a spreadsheet version can be found here). For an overall summary, click here.
