The “Everything Terrible Trump Has Done So Far” Omnibus (Week 124)

As part of the ongoing project to catalog every awful thing the Trump Administration has done as a reference for future political arguments and whatever few posterity survives to see 2020, here’s everything awful the Trump Administration has done this week.

1403. Exacerbated trade wars by stripping India of special trade status

1404. Forced visa applicants to provide social media information

1405. Responsible for the largest reduction in protected land in US history

1406. Pushed for a criminal crackdown on pipeline protesters

1407. Considered tariffs on Australia

1408. Three migrants died in three days as a result of Trump immigration crackdown

1409. Limited research using fetal tissue

1410. Canceled English classes, activities and legal aid for unaccompanied child migrants in US shelters

1411. Issued new travel restrictions to Cuba

1412. Approved two nuclear deals with Saudi Arabia

1413. Dismissed the existential threat of climate change by saying it “goes both ways”

Continuing on a trend started last week, Trump escalated his trade wars putting new tariffs on Mexico, stripping India of its special trade status and even considered tariffs on Australia. Meanwhile, Trump also continued to wall of America by imposing new hurdles on visa applicants, imposing travel restrictions and denying recreational activities to migrant children. The war on science also continued apace with Trump once again refusing to take climate change seriously and limiting research on fetal tissues.

As always, I don’t expect to catch everything, so let me know if there’s anything you think I’ve missed. The full omnibus is being maintained here (a spreadsheet version can be found here). For an overall summary, click here.
