The Daily Bucket–I ain't Superstitious, but …

2 min read

About 15 years ago, my son and I dug out two back yard fish ponds with a back hoe, to my wife’s surprise.

A backhoe. (not in my backyard.)

This pond was about 12 X eight feet. We stocked it with dime-a-dance aquarium goldfish.

The goldfish grew rapidly.

I operate an all you can eat fish flakes bistro, and the patrons grew rapidly with pretty colors.

About ten years ago,  the herons at a nearby lake took notice.

At first, they monitored my ponds from the neighbors’ roofs.  Herons can be jiggy, but they eventually approached.

I adored those fish, but which side are you on?

Sometimes the heron made dramatic exits.

I learned where Billie fished at nearby Bethany Lake. I now believe there are 3 or herons more at the Lake, and my yard, but not all at once.

I had been anxious, having not seen Billy for eight months.  I am superstitious.  I believe that Billy protects me.  I feel much safer now.  I feel free, I feel free, I feel free.
