2/ This appears to be a reference to a non-peer-reviewed study by the VA that showed increased mortality with use of the drug but also noted “the importance of awaiting the results of ongoing prospective, randomized, controlled studies before widespread adoption of these drugs.”
3/ Per Physicians Weekly, those in the study were around age 70 and “patients with more severe disease were more likely to be prescribed either HC alone or in combination with AZ.” (azithromycin)

5/ Related: “FDA cautions against use of hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine for COVID-19 outside of the hospital setting or a clinical trial due to risk of heart rhythm problems”
6/ Related: NIH “Panel recommends against the use of hydroxychloroquine plus azithromycin for the treatment of COVID-19, except in the context of a clinical trial.” (NIH is now conducting clinical trials)
