Kavanaugh’s awful spectacle last night was hard to stomach and sit through. Although he violently sexually assaulted multiple women, he cried like he was the victim—and then had a meltdown where he lashed out at Democrats, the Clintons, Soros, and anyone who dared to bring these allegations up. His tirade included saying his reputation, his life and his family “have been totally and permanently destroyed.”
Fred Guttenberg, whose beloved daughter, Jaime, was slaughtered along with 16 of her school friends, had a few thoughts about that:
Mr. Guttenberg, as you may recall, was the one who tried to shake Kavanaugh’s hand and talk with him at his Sept. 4. hearing. Kavanaugh stared at him for a few seconds, and then coldly walked away without shaking his hand.
It was Kavanaugh who wrote the dissent for DC’s ban on assault rifles saying they “are in common use by law-abiding citizens”. Kavanaugh is a favorite of the NRA because he has always argued the extreme belief that public safety should play no role in determining the constitutionality of public safety laws. They have spent over a million dollars supporting this sick horse and just released a vile ad supporting him narrated by Oliver North.
He is a bad person and I have no pity for him.
And about his life being ruined?
I don’t know many people who can go for a job interview, take a pause for a rape charge, and still be in contention.
Unlike Dr. Ford, he will always have the boys club giving him options for his whiny, entitled ass. However, I don’t think he’ll need them. I have zero faith that the so-called “moderates” in the GOP will do the right thing, so he’ll likely be confirmed when all is said and done.
Then he can join Clarence Thomas in being a spiteful sycophant who will always have a chip on his shoulder that one of his victims dared to speak out.
For the rest of us, all I can say is this: if you’ve been sitting on the sidelines before the midterms, what the hell are you waiting for?
