Snobby East Coast 'billionaire' Donald Trump hates Southern accents

Well, looky here.

Republicans’ favorite sport has long been accusing Democrats of harboring a secret animus toward working-class people, even as those same Democrats valiantly fought for their interests and Republicans specialized in burning the economy to the ground and passing upper-class tax cuts.

For eight years they relentlessly blasted President Obama for saying some voters cling to their guns and their religion, and God forbid John Kerry go duck hunting.

So what will working-class Southerners make of this excerpt from a recent Politico story on Trump’s attempts to 86 Jefferson Beauregard Sessions?

Seized by paroxysms of anger, Trump has intermittently pushed to fire his attorney general since March 2017, when Sessions announced his recusal from the Russia investigation. If Sessions’ recusal was his original sin, Trump has come to resent him for other reasons, griping to aides and lawmakers that the attorney general doesn’t have the Ivy League pedigree the president prefers, that he can’t stand his Southern accent and that Sessions isn’t a capable defender of the president on television — in part because he “talks like he has marbles in his mouth,” the president has told aides.

Trump, who sounds like a cross between Tony Danza, a crashing helicopter, and a syphilitic howler monkey, has a lot of gall dissing other people’s accents, but what’s with the Ivy League pedigree thing? Trump is the most anti-intellectual preside … er, human ever. The guy thinks Alex Jones is real news and KFC is real food. Why would he care if someone went to an Ivy League college? Is it just because he gets off on bullying and humiliating Harvard and Yale alums?

Who knows? But this revelation is going to put Southerners in a tizzy, right? Right?

Okay, maybe not.
