SJC Chairman tells Don Jr. to Ignore Senate Intel Subpoena

2 min read

Lindsay Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, the committee that passes on judges and Attorneys General, the committee that is the bedrock of the rule of law, is telling Don Jr. to ignore a lawfully issued subpoena from another Senate committee:

Graham told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo that he would advise the president’s son not to testify again to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“If I were Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer, I would tell him, you don’t need to go back into this environment anymore,” Graham explained. “You’ve been there for hours and hours and nothing being alleged here changes the outcome of the Mueller investigation.” Raw Story May 12

(Talking Points Memo picked up the story this morning.)

I guess the GOP isn’t having any success getting Burr to back off (impending retirement does occasionally lead to spine growth) and is trying other ways to express their displeasure at the prospect of a scion of the House of Trump being obliged to obey the law.

Short diary, because we’re on vacation in the Caucasus (great view today of the mountain range!), but I happened across this story, didn’t see any diary here, and had to post this one to work off my outrage. I will try to check in from time to time.
