Saluting an enemy general from a violent regime ends any bitching about protestor patriotism.

2 min read

This footage has been running all day on North Korean state-run media: our Commander-in-Chief paying homage to one of Kim Jong-Un’s generals.

Rear Admiral John Kirby (Ret.) said that North Korea was quick to pounce on the propaganda value of Trump showing “the level of deference and respect that Trump has paid to them and their military leaders.”

I guess Justin Trudeau should have had forced labor camps.

Even the folks at Fox News, Trump’s propaganda outlet—who, BTW, are now saying that they are totally okay with “bowing and scraping” to dictators —had to admit that this was quite a coup for the North Koreans.

From now on, anytime some rightwing bagger goes off the rails about how unpatriotic it is for Americans to silently protest police brutality by kneeling during an anthem is going to be SENT THIS ANIMATED GIF

Go F*** yourselves. Seriously.

Not only did Trump grant the dictator prestige by even having a meeting with no preconditions, Trump gave him everything he wanted. This included a pledge to halt all military exercises in the region—which surprised both South Korea and the Pentagon.  In exchange we got…..absolutely nothing. And I mean NOTHING.  A vague promise to be nice.

Then Donald heaped a load of gushing praise on the dictator.  (Kim said nothing about Donald.)

Great negotiating, Donnie. Neville Chamberlain got more—and at least he didn’t debase himself and his military by saluting Hitler’s generals and then praising Hitler.

If you think Trump couldn’t go any lower, think again.  We haven’t even seen the depth of Trump’s degradation: Trump has so overblown the “success” of this 20-minute meeting that all Kim has to do is threaten TO THREATEN to launch a missile, and Trump will cave to anything. Fortunately for us, there really isn’t much left for North Korea to ask for.

I share the admiral’s disgust, and like him, I am not at all surprised. After all, our president is a traitor: an enemy to our friends and a friend to our enemies.  He’s already put Russian and Chinese interests over our own, so why not North Korea’s? His treasonous behavior knows no bounds, and his republican supporters know no shame.

Instead of bashing the NFL players for exercising their First Amendment right, you should try to learn from them. Unlike you, they understand something about principles and patriotism.
