Report: Biden's widening lead has 'panicked' Republicans
I’m getting a real Custer at Little Bighorn vibe lately when it comes to the GOP.
Donald Trump has very quickly become an albatross around Republicans’ necks. An albatross with COVID. Which is the worst kind of albatross, really.
Trump is struggling mightily with the groups that powered his 2016 election victory, including seniors, independents and suburban voters. Women are breaking for Biden in huge numbers.
Republicans are worried that Trump is headed for a resounding defeat that could decimate the party’s ranks in the Senate, where the GOP is frantically working to protect its majority against a wave of Democratic spending.
“Republicans are in big trouble in my opinion,” said former Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.), a contributor for The Hill.
Big trouble for Republicans sounds like “good trouble” to me.
“In almost all of the swing states allegedly in play … the deciding vote will be independent women. That vote has historically been center-right, but these folks are totally frustrated with the president. They find his style and demeanor to be inconsistent and he’s not getting that vote anywhere. That’s the swing vote … and I think he’s lost them. People have made up their minds. He’s in big trouble. It will be a tough election for the people that are on the ticket with him.”
When asked if he thought it was too late for Trump to turn things around, Gregg replied: “Yes.”
Really? Women don’t think it’s cool for a guy not to wear a simple mask while mingling with vulnerable citizens? I thought women were way into that kind of thing. Just like how guys who pose with dead animals they’ve personally humiliated and slaughtered are always the biggest draw on Match.com. Women love unnecessary death and destruction, don’t they? It’s so fucking cool!
I’m gobsmacked, truly.
Republicans should have known on day one that Trump’s purpling carcass would eventually drag them and their leaky dinghy under the briny waves. But it’s way too late to unload the ballast now. Their fate appears to be sealed.
That said, there’s still time to donate to Joe. Let’s turn this win into a fucking monumental embarrassment for the other side.
