Reid Insulted Gays a Decade Ago & Apologized. Trump Just Insulted the Disabled TODAY–AGAIN!

Let’s all remember that Trump has never apologized for doing this, and he never will:
In fact, he doubled down on it and criticized the reporter for “using his disability to grandstand” because he took offense to it.
Rightwing fundie God-haters have repeatedly excused this, along with every other behavior of their unrepentant golden calf. This includes his sexual assaults, non-stop adultery, greed and –(aw heck, he’s the embodiment of the 7 Deadly Sins). They argue it was no big deal or he didn’t really mean it. Well, his recent antics put that to rest.
During a ceremony that was supposed to honor Paralympians, Trump riffed about how hard it was trying to watch them compete:
And I watched… it was a little tough to watch too much, but I watched as much as I could.
–Donald Trump (R-D*Bag)
Oh, go f*** yourself, Donald. I find YOU tough to watch.
The Paralympic Committee fired back:
Trump insulted them to their face. (This likely won’t be the last time.)
He will never apologize.
And his supporters will never ask him to.
On the flip side, the other story today is about Joy Reid, who posted some stupid things about gays a decade ago. Here is how she responded:
I have not been exempt from being dumb or cruel or hurtful to the very people I want to advocate for. I own that. I did it. And for that I am truly, truly sorry.
–Joy Reid
Homophopic fundie rightwingers—who have waged war for years on the LGBTQ community–have been expressing faux outrage the past several hours. One of them just asked me how I’m not more outraged over this. (At least he was real—I’m not counting the Russian twitter bots with no followers that sprang up.)
To answer his question, here’s why:
- She is a tireless advocate for equality.
- She evolved—as I did—about LGBTQ issues.
- She fought for same-sex marriage and still advocates for transgender rights.
- The LGBTQ community is rallying behind her. They know who their friends—and enemies—really are.
Compare the tweet above from the community Trump attacked to the tweets below from the LGBTQ community:
Two marginalized communities—one has responded with disdain, and the other with strong support.
Why do you think that is?
If you can’t figure it out—that is the reason you are still republican.
