Why does Russia lie so much? I can see that lying to deceive rivals might be viable strategy, but it does require to have some degree of credibility - so that the other side would at least consider that what you are saying is true.
But they lie so blatantly and give different lies all the time, which makes it difficult to even consider anything they say.
Is it part of their political culture? (Why?)
Is it just an impression created by western media cherry picking most obvious examples of lies?
