Traditionally, the term "liberalism" meant openness to new ideas, freedom of discussion, welcoming diversity of opinions. You know, "it is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" attitude.

In recent years the left wing of the Democratic Party, the "progressive", "woke", "democratic socialist" wing, openly supports all kinds of censorship, including approving platform-imposed limits on discussions on social media, demanding that colleges won't allow conservative speakers on the campus, directing hate speech at those who disagree with the leftists views, and "cancelling" people for their views.

Why? What happened to the liberals' willingness to discuss things?

EDIT:

Here are some examples; there are many, many more.

  1. Many college students are afraid to voice their opinions.

  2. 75% of conservatives are afraid to express their views.

  3. Oppression of conservative speech hurts students.

EDIT:

BTW, guys, I just posted the following snapshot on my other social medial accounts. You couldn't prove my point better if you tried.
