Living in a western country and reading western media, my perception of the war in Ukraine is that Ukraine are totally winning, Russia is embarrassing itself and getting slapped by brave, Ukranian heroes on all fronts.
But then you look at the death figures and it's fairly close
and you look at a map, and it seems like Kiev, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Sevastapol, Mariupol, Luhansk, Chernihiv, Kherson, and Sumy are all either Russian-controlled or close to besiegement. In 2-3 weeks from now, the war might practically be won.
So clearly there is a large amount of pro-Ukranian propaganda. Why? How does a country benefit from winning the "Propaganda War"?
I keep hearing people say it's for "morale" reasons, but that might explain what you tell your soldiers, but I'm seeing similar propaganda in non-Ukranian countries where I imagine morale is a non-relevant concept.
