I've noticed, that the US are often lead it's foreign politics with some "main bad guy" idea. With the idea, that removing a "bad guy" would change the situation instantly. Without society building, changing minds, re-building infrastructure - just removing "main bad guy".

Moreover, I'm seeing it even in the US films, where some fantastic creatures driving out "main bad guy", and then everything instantly becomes OK.

But that's not always true, because removing one bad guy don't prevent other bad guys to start acting: removing Houssein (possibly)opened road to ISIS, removing Kaddafi opened road to nowadays mess in Lybia.

Is there any origin of that idea?
