If politician A is a corrupt person. His opponent is a moral guy with an honest reputation. The reputation of politician A is badly affected since a lot of news are broken about his corruption evidence. Now he finds a small mistake of his opponent regarding financial history. He boosts his narrative and mixes his big crimes with opponents' small crimes. And make immoral financial facts a norm. What do we call this act? is there any example in history or is there a terminology?
Thanks
