China is ruled by a party that calls itself communist. From my sociology class in university, I learned that one of the core ideals of Marxist theory is the dictatorship of the proletariat: the abolition of class by giving the workers all the means of production.

Having said this, do the workers in China own the means of production? Is there a dictatorship of the proletariat in China?
