Are red flag laws effectively federal firearms possession bans? [closed]

Learning personally about NJ especially thorny red flag law. It's bad news, front loaded with bias, with of course an expensive lawyering process to wriggle out of it.

Question is, has the fed added an extra chain to this, forcing all states to refuse licensing, or at minimum just putting up extra-legal roadblocks to possession, based on another state's red flag?

Asking on behalf of pretty much every blue state gun owner ready to bail their state.

On the one hand I haven't heard of it happening. On the other, a lawyer I spoke with who should know, doesn't.
