NY Daily News front page contrasts pouty Trump with grown-up past presidents

This pretty much says it all, doesn’t it?

From today’s New York Daily News cover story:

One by one, former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton stood tall Thursday at the Atlanta funeral of civil rights icon John Lewis, honoring the life and legacy of the fearless Congressional veteran.

And in Washington, current President Trump turned yet again to Twitter and conspiracy theories, suggesting the upcoming Nov. 3 election “will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT” in American history.

His profile in outrage stood in contrast to the words of the ex-presidents and their bi-partisan remembrances, lauding the profile in courage of Lewis — whose heroic 1965 crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., helped pave Obama’s historic election to the White House 43 years later.

That’s actually just a really lofty way of saying …

To be fair, Donald Trump is not worthy of attending the funeral of an icon like John Lewis. We should be happy he stayed away. That said, the Abominable Showman couldn’t help but launch a fusillade of distractions while his predecessors — Democrats and Republicans alike — sought to honor a great man.

Because Trump is the furthest thing from a great man. Or from a man, for that matter.
