Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Bob Casey, Jr. (D. PA) in support of U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s (D. NH) re-election campaign:
“New Hampshire will effectively have two Donald Trumps on the ballot in 2020” if Corey Lewandowski decides to run, according to a leading New Hampshire Republican strategist. And today, Lewandowski launched a new website for a potential campaign.
President Trump has been laying down the groundwork for a takeover of New Hampshire politics by encouraging his former campaign manager to run. And the New York Times asked last week, “Will Trumpism take deeper root in New Hampshire?”
U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen has been working for policies that work for New Hampshire and she needs our support — before her critical end-of-quarter fundraising deadline — to take on the Trump machine.
Will you help Jeanne Shaheen defend our health care, fight for our families, and defeat President Trump's former campaign manager? Chip in now to help us raise $10,000 before midnight and show President Trump you're standing with Jeanne.
It's scary to imagine that New Hampshire could be represented by Corey Lewandowski — a man who was accused of assaulting reporters, mocked a child with down syndrome live on Fox News, and was an architect of the failed policies and extremist rhetoric being promoted by the White House right now.
Even a former New Hampshire Republican Governor called him a “thug,” but Corey Lewandowski has the support of President Trump and his vast network of megadonors. That's why Lewandowski recently told a Fox News host, “Jeanne Shaheen is in trouble if I get in the race.”
We need to stand up to Lewandowski and Trump right now, before they gain a foothold in New Hampshire.
