There has been some slowing of vaccinations for Covid  in the last couple of days but that is typical in reports for Sundays, Mondays, and holidays.

The CDC reports 32.6% of US residents had received at least one dose as of Monday. Among the adult population, 41.7% have had at least one jab and that includes 75.9% of Americans over 65.

The number of total doses delivered has leaped up to 219.2 million, close to the 220 million needed to accomplish Joe Biden’s goal of 200 million vaccinations in his first 100 days. (Some 20.1 million were vaccinated under Trump.)

Also hopeful is that more than 12 million doses have been delivered by Johnson and Johnson, a single does vaccine, but only 4.3 million of those doses have been used. Those 7.7 million available doses are enough by themselves to vaccinate 3% of the adult US population and represent a major addition to the phials now pouring out from Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna.

New Hampshire now leads with the largest percentage vaccinated with 42% of its residents receiving at least one dose. Mississippi and Alabama are the laggards at about 26%. Georgia has climbed up to 26.5% of its total population receiving at least one shot.

Biden Wants to Open Vaccinations to All Adults by April 19

U.S. President Joe Biden will announce Tuesday that he wants all American adults to be eligible for a coronavirus vaccine by April 19, two weeks earlier than his previous goal. California is aiming to fully reopen its economy on June 15.

52% of Parents Plan on Vaccinations for Children

www.cnn.com/…

Just over half of parents – 52% – said they are likely to get their children vaccinated against Covid-19 when a vaccine becomes available for their age group, according to results of a new Axios-Ipsos poll, released Tuesday.

Republicans are most resistant to having their child be vaccinated, according to the poll, which was conducted April 2 through April 5, and was made up of a nationally representative sample of 979 general population Americans age 18 and older.

81% of Teachers Are Getting Vaccinated

www.cbsnews.com/…

A new survey of educators by the nation’s second-largest teachers union shows as of April 1 at least 81% of educators had been vaccinated for COVID-19 or were scheduled to get their shots, according to data shared with CBS News by the union…

Of the 18% of educators who have not yet been vaccinated or don’t yet have an appointment, about half — 48% — say they do not plan to get a shot, according to the survey, citing hesitancy about vaccines, lack of research, or the desire for more information. This means about 10% of total educators in the survey said they will not be vaccinated.
