NC-Sen: Sen. Sherrod Brown (D. OH) Helps Cal Cunningham (D) Put An End To Moscow Mitch's Majority

2 min read

Received this e-mail yesterday from U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D. OH) in support of Cal Cunningham’s (D. NC) U.S. Senate campaign:

Cal Cunningham (D. NC)

The Center for Politics says the Senate race in North Carolina is one of only a handful that Democrats likely need to win to flip the Senate this November. That means North Carolina could determine whether we have another two years of Mitch McConnell’s Republican Senate Majority.

So I need to talk to you about Cal Cunningham.

The stakes are high, and polls show Cal’s race is going to be in the single digits. Every dollar matters in a toss-up race like this. Catherine: If you are able, will you split a contribution between Cal’s campaign and mine?

McConnell and special-interest groups have taken notice of the momentum behind Cal’s campaign and have pledged to spend tens of millions of dollars to stop him in his tracks — not to mention the three million they spent against him already. North Carolina is already one of the most expensive 2020 Senate races in the whole country.

I know all about competing in expensive races. Special-interest groups have spent more than $40 million against me.

I also know all about grassroots support. This community has stepped up time and again, chipping in a few dollars here and there, to help drive forward the fight for our progressive values in Congress.

I’m asking you to harness that same grassroots energy for Cal. He’s a proven champion for our values like the Dignity of Work and affordable health care, and we need him in the Senate. If you can, split a contribution between his campaign and mine today.

With gratitude,
