Received this e-mail today from Cal Cunningham’s (D. NC) U.S. Senate campaign:
This week, we sent out a survey asking you to share your thoughts about last weekend’s mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton and the epidemic of gun violence in America. The response was overwhelming in support of action — and a sobering reminder of how many are affected by gun violence in America today:
- 94% of those who responded agreed Mitch McConnell should bring up a vote on the House’s background checks bill;
- More than one-third said gun violence had impacted their life at some point.
Team, now is the time to say enough is enough.
Our country has experienced too many tragic acts of gun violence. There are commonsense steps we can take right now to make our communities safer, first and foremost expanding background checks.
I hear from families every single day who are worried their schools, churches or community events are at risk. It’s heartbreaking.
Let’s finally do something about it and demand McConnell and Senate Republicans take action — immediately.
Thanks for standing up.
