Received two e-mails from U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D. CT). The first one is in support of Jaime Harrison’s (D. SC) U.S. Senate campaign:
We just got big news in our fight to take back the Senate.
It’s starting to look like South Carolina could seriously be on the board.
We have a great candidate there in Jaime Harrison who is challenging Lindsey Graham, and a new poll showed Jaime behind by just two points — putting him within the margin of error.
The election is nearly a year away, but Lindsey Graham’s antics this year have made him vulnerable. We need to capitalize on that and help Jaime keep up his momentum.
We need to flip four seats to retake the majority, and the truth is, our path to doing that is narrow.
But this poll shows that South Carolina is worth our investment. That we’re within striking distance is remarkable, and it’s a testament to the strong race Jaime’s running.
If we win in South Carolina, then we’ll retake the Senate majority. I have no doubt about that. Mitch McConnell’s reign will be over.
Thank you in advance for making a donation. Imagine how great it would feel to win in South Carolina and defeat Lindsey Graham.
Every best wish,
The next one is in support of Cal Cunningham’s (D. NC) U.S. Senate campaign:
One of our best Senate seat pickup opportunities next year is in North Carolina.
Thom Tillis is one the most vulnerable incumbents, and we’ve got a great candidate challenging him in Cal Cunningham.
Multiple election forecasters have rated this race a tossup, and poll after poll shows the race is in a dead heat.
But Thom Tillis has spent the past few years building a war chest. So today, I want to help Cal Cunningham hit his deadline goal and close that gap.
Can you split a $5 donation between Cal’s campaign and my work fighting to change our gun laws? It’s critically important that we invest in these fights before the FEC deadline, so that we have the resources to invest early in 2020.
Look, this race is going to be expensive.
North Carolina will be one of the biggest battleground states next year — and not just for the presidential and Senate races. There’s a major gubernatorial race and two new house districts in play.
Republicans are going to spend massive amounts of money trying to win these races. In 2014, the NRA spent $4.4 million supporting Tillis.
We gotta make sure Cal can compete with all of that spending. That means we need to help him hit his deadline goal.
Defeating NRA-favorite Thom Tillis would be a major victory for our movement, and when we do, we can end Mitch McConnell’s majority as well.
Every best wish,
