Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Patty Murray (D. WA) in support of Cal Cunningham (D. NC), Theresa Greenfield (D. IA), Dr. Al Gross (I. AK) and Rev. Raphael Warnock’s (D. GA) U.S. Senate campaigns:
I launched my Sprint to 2020 program this month because this election is the most important one of our lifetimes — and we all need to do everything we can to defeat Mitch McConnell and take back the Senate.
The only way we can do this is if we support and help candidates in must-win Senate races across the country. Last week, you all came through to show your support for Barbara Bollier in Kansas. That’s why I’m excited to introduce you to Cal Cunningham in North Carolina, Theresa Greenfield in Iowa, Dr. Al Gross in Alaska, and Rev. Raphael Warnock in Georgia. With your help, I know these four great candidates can defeat the extreme incumbent Republicans and put Senate Democrats in the majority next year.
It has been absolutely horrible to watch Mitch McConnell and the GOP turn the Senate into a legislative graveyard. On issue after issue, from the climate crisis to equal pay for women and lowering prescription drug costs, no matter how important, they are refusing to even call a vote and show where they stand.
Thankfully, we have the power to end this obstruction and failed leadership in the November election. But it’s going to take all of us standing with great candidates in must-win Senate races to defeat McConnell and the GOP.
