ME-Sen: Sen. Chris Murphy (D. CT), “Mitch McConnell (R. KY) calls us back or he loses his majority”

Received this e-mail today from U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D. CT) in support of Sara Gideon’s (D. ME) U.S. Senate campaign:

Sara Gideon (D. ME)

On average, 100 people are killed with a gun every single day in this country.

It does not have to be this way.

And every day Mitch McConnell refuses to call the Senate back to vote on legislation we know will save lives, he is increasingly complicit in the carnage and the loss left behind.

That is why we’re going to continue fundraising all week for Senate challengers who can end his majority.

If his caucus feels the pressure, they can get him to bring the Senate back tomorrow. So let’s focus on one of his most vulnerable members: Susan Collins – who cast the deciding vote for NRA-favorite, Brett Kavanaugh to join the Supreme Court.

FiveThirtyEight and the Washington Post have called it one of the seats most likely to flip, and our candidate Sara Gideon is fantastic.

If we have her back, she can win this race.

Split a $5 donation between Sara Gideon’s campaign and my work building our movement to change our gun laws. She’s not taking a dime of corporate PAC money, so your support will go a long way.

This should be a simple decision for Mitch McConnell. He calls us back to take a vote on legislation that more than 90% of Americans support, or we continue raising money for candidates to end his majority.

Either way, we’re going to win eventually. You simply cannot be this out of step with the American people forever.

Thanks for standing with us and keeping the pressure on in this moment.

Every best wish,

Chris Murphy
