ME, CO, KY & NC-Sen: Council For A Livable Doubles Down To Take Away Moscow Mitch's Majority
Received this e-mail today from the Council for a Livable World:
I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. As my colleagues John and Geoff have said in prior emails, we at the Council are continuing to work as well as we can in these challenging times, as national security continues to be a priority for us — even as families everywhere have so many other matters demanding their primary attention right now.
You might have missed recent reporting that the odds of Democrats taking control of the Senate have increased to almost 50-50.
This would have myriad effects on progressive national security priorities, such as addressing the threats posed by new nuclear weapons systems; gross overspending on defense; and a stunning misallocation of national security funding.
We're supporting a slate of candidates who can help retake control of the Senate. With the first federal fundraising deadline of 2020 at midnight, we urge you — if you are a position to do so at this time — to support the following candidates:
Sara Gideon (D-ME), who is in a statistical tie with the increasingly unpopular Sen. Susan Collins.
Former governor John Hickenlooper (D-CO), who is in a toss-up race against the incredibly vulnerable Sen. Cory Gardner.
Amy McGrath (D-KY), who is taking on the country's least popular senator, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
Cal Cunningham (D-NC), who is in a toss-up race against notorious flip-flopper Sen. Thom Tillis.
We need new thinking and new leadership in the Senate, and despite the national emergency currently facing all of us, there may be a very real chance at making that change a reality. Could you rush a donation to one or more of these campaigns today?
Thank you for your continued interest in these elections in the face of a pandemic; you truly are making the world more livable.
