Received this e-mail today from Democracy for America in support of U.S. Senator Ed Markey’s (D. MA) re-election campaign:
Senator Ed Markey has dedicated his entire career to fighting for our progressive values.
He wrote the only major climate legislation to ever pass a house of Congress, and worked hand-in-hand with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to craft the Green New Deal.
In less than two weeks, Ed is facing a primary challenge and he needs our help to put him over the top. All because the corporate establishment is spending obscene amounts of money backing Rep. Joe Kennedy III in an attempt to defeat a true progressive champion.
Ed’s campaign just released a viral new campaign video that’s taking off across the internet. But in the final week before the Massachusetts primary, Ed is counting on grassroots support to make sure every undecided voter hears his message.
Ed is the son of a milkman who put himself through college and law school and has never forgotten his working class roots. As Massachusetts’ Senator, he’s worked tirelessly to put working people first and always fought for our progressive values.
Those are the characteristics that have sustained Ed’s career and drive his campaign. It’s the reason why we’re doing everything we can to make sure he’s re-elected.
We need more progressive fighters like Ed Markey in the U.S. Senate. Not less.
Ed’s working class family taught him that real progressive leaders can’t be identified by the last name they were born with, but by the people they fight for, the bold stands they take, and the battles they wage.
That’s exactly who Ed Markey is. And that’s why we're honored to endorse him for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

Also, Markey is holding a virtual climate rally this Saturday:
This Saturday, we're having a rally with climate leaders to talk about the Green New Deal and the work our movement needs to do in these final days. Will you RSVP to join us?
I’m thrilled to have Vice President Al Gore, Sunrise Movement Co-Founder Varshini Prakash, and State Senator Jamie Eldridge joining us for this event.
The future of the Green New Deal is on the ballot, and for the first time ever, Massachusetts has expanded access to early voting in the state primary. So we've got to talk to as many voters as possible about getting their votes in for Ed.
If we’re going to win this race and save our planet, then we need you fighting alongside us every step of the way.
Thank you and hope to see you at the rally!
P.S. Even if you can't make the event, please consider making a donation to our campaign. Every dollar counts in these final days, and it’ll go a long way toward passing the Green New Deal when we win.
