Yes, when you ASSUME, you make an ASS out of U and ME. Check. Speculation is settling on the intelligence agency Whistleblower complaint being about Trump extorting from the government of Ukraine a fraudulent prosecution or just dirt againt Joe Biden and his son Hunter. Sources are saying its about Ukraine, and both Trump and Guiliani have made it public they are looking or dirt on Joe Biden and his son.
For a refresher on this Trump obsession, you can check this www.politifact.com/.…
Is it true, as the image suggests, that Hunter Biden was serving as “a director to Ukraine’s largest private gas producer” when the elder Biden “threatened to withhold $1 BILLION in U.S. aid to Ukraine if they didn’t fire a prosecutor looking into” the gas company?Key takeaways
• Hunter Biden did hold a directorship for a Ukrainian gas company while his father was vice president. Experts agree that Hunter Biden's acceptance of the position created a conflict of interest for his father.
• Vice President Joe Biden did urge Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, with the threat of withholding U.S. aid. But that was the position of the wider U.S. government, as well as other international institutions.
• We found no evidence to support the idea that Joe Biden advocated with his son's interests in mind, as the message suggests. It's not even clear that the company was actively under investigation or that a change in prosecutors benefited it.
Emboldened is my doing.
The article brings up other experts that say Hunter Biden taking that directorship was a clear conflict of interest for his father, Joe Biden. A common practice for Eastern European companies is to hire the family members of politically powerful Americans to gain access. In this case, other elements in U.S. government agreed that the Ukrainian prosecutor Shokin needed to be fired becasue he simply wasn’t doing his job.
Bottom line: there was a conflict of interest though with Hunter Biden being a director at the Ukrainian gas company while his father was VP.
Trump, sensing some Hillary Email mischief, obviously feels that there is a natural gas vein in them thare Ukrainian hills! And a gusher of Biden dirt will shoot up into the air for all to see. Just in time for 2020.
Here me out. I’m not going into Joe Biden bashing.
If Trump extorted help from the Ukraine by threatening to not give military aid that is needed to keep the Russian Bear out, that should be bad enough for impeachment. You could look at as bribery, or be bold enough to point out that Trump is undermining a democratic ally. I think those would be good enough reasons for the House to impeach.
For those who are against impeachment, how bad do you think Trump will be a year from now if he is allowed to have NOTHING happen to him while he threatens the Ukraine for manufactured dirt on Biden? You all think he will behave himself or get worse? I don’t know about you, but his lawlessness is getting worse and worse all the time.
But here is the kicker. Will the Democrats in the House allow Trump to manufacture dirt on Joe Biden the current front runner and possible Democratic nominee for president? Do the anti-impeachment Democrats think it is a good idea to allow Trump to extort foreign nations to manufacture dirt on the Democratic nominee? Think about that. At the present, we have few if any court victories that are forcing Trump to respond to Congressional subpoenas. Going to court is going slow.
If by some miracle Congressional committees can get a few witnesses to show Trump criminality with regards Ukraine and Joe Biden, will the anti-impeachment Democrats keep up their clap trap that impeachment is a waste of time or is too divisive? Even as Trump is taking aim at Joe Biden?
Now, I am making the assumption that Joe Biden will be the nominee. And I am making another assumption that most of the establishment wants Joe Biden to be the nominee. And it appears that most of those on record for an impeachment inquiry are not necessarily the Democratic establishment. In fact, I would argue that they are not. That means that most of the rest who have not signed on to a impeachment inquiry are not hot for impeachment.
How will they feel when they see Trump abusing the office of the White House and Executive Branch to hurt the Democratic nominee, especially if it establishment Joe Biden? Or is that too divisive for Democrats still?
It’s all speculation and assumptions for now.
