Received this e-mail today from former Missouri Secretary of State & U.S. Senate candidate, Jason Kander (D. MO), in support of Dr. Barbara Bollier’s (D. KS) U.S. Senate campaign:
As a former elected official and candidate myself, I know how big of a task it is to get your message out to the voters — but this public health crisis has made it even more difficult.
That’s why I’m doing everything I can to get the word out about our Democratic candidates in must-win races and ensure their campaigns are getting the attention they need and deserve.
One of those worthy candidates is Barbara Bollier in Kansas, who is running to become the first-ever woman doctor in the U.S. Senate. And this crisis shows just how important it is that we elect more leaders who understand that science and facts always come before partisan politics.
While I live across the state line in Missouri now, I grew up in Kansas and I know that it is a unique state. Voters there care about the person, not the party. Some may think it is a Republican state — but we have seen that Democrats, like Governor Laura Kelly and Rep. Sharice Davids in 2018, can win when they get their message out and connect with the people.
That’s why I know that we can flip this seat in November. Barbara Bollier is a true public servant with a record of accomplishments as a physician and a state lawmaker — and she’s in this race to work her heart out for Kansans on important issues like expanding access to healthcare and protecting our voting rights. And that is the exact kind of leader that Kansans want and need serving them in the U.S. Senate.
Thank you,
Jason Kander
