James Carville on 2020: “Wish in one hand, (___) in the other. See which one gets filled first.”
MSNBC had James Carville on to opine on the Iowa caucuses, and he cited a Marine Corps saying as a critique of the Democratic party not providing a winning strategy for winning in 2020. I will be setting my TV on something other than the SOTU. We’ve had three years of (___) in tiny hands.
I won't be attending #SOTU this evening. I can't stomach all the lies. .@repjohnlewis said 3 years ago @realDonaldTrump is not a legitimate president — and John has been proven right time & time again. Trump got elected w/ foreign help & now he's solicited foreign help for 2020.

Trump has told 16,000 lies so far as President. WhatâÂÂs the over/under on how many he will tell tonight? #SOTU2020

xState of the Union addresses tend to be much less dishonest than almost every other kind of Trump speech. Because he usually sticks to script for these, and the overwhelming majority of his lies come when he is ad-libbing.

xMore than actual false claims/lies, what you usually see in Trump speeches like State of the Union addresses is omitted context, cherry-picked data points, and questionable credit-claiming. But he doesn't usually, like, claim to have been named Michigan Man of the Year.

I cannot for the life of me understand why, as long as we are responsibly waiting for accurate counts, why aren't actually responsibly waiting for an accurate count.
