For Healthcare as a Human Right!  Mike Hersh for Dr. Bill, Donna, Alan, Mike F., Janis, Deb, Dan, Kim, Bryan, and Shayna—your PDA National Medicare for All Team

If You Agree it is, Become a Grassroots Cosponsor of Medicare For All!

Last month, Progressive Democrats of America (PDA) helped make history, standing with 107 original sponsors and dozens of progressive organizations at the launch of Rep. Pramila Jayapal’s Medicare For All Act of 2019 in front of the Capitol Building, in Washington, D.C. Since then, our Healthcare is a Human Right team has been hard at work. This past week, Dr. Bill Honigman hosted another PDA Healthcare is a Human Right call. He also traveled to Nevada and around California spreading the word on Medicare For All.

PDA is part of a national coalition mobilizing support for the Medicare For All Act. This legislation would guarantee the full range of medical care including—in patient, out patient, surgery, hospitalization, emergency, mental, dental, vision, hearing, medical devices, tests, supplies, pharmaceuticals, therapy, long term, rehabilitation, preventative care—and more. All with out any out-of-pocket costs. No copays, no deductibles, no fees, no costs of any kind. The MFA Coalition is hard at work finding additional cosponsors. We need your help now!

Support PDA’s Medicare For All Action Fund

When we founded PDA in 2004, we were nearly alone among national multi-issue progressive organizations in our dedication to Medicare For All (MFA). While other organizations supported far less progressive, (and far less effective) alternatives, PDA kept Medicare For All front and center. Now, you can help us gain even more support for this critically important legislation.

Two of the most renowned healthcare organizers in the USA are part of our PDA family: Donna Smith, formerly our Executive Director and currently the Chair of our National Advisory Board; and Dr. Bill, our national staffer and California State Coordinator. These two dedicated, effective spokespeople make regular appearances at events, on TV, radio, and in print. They also lead our Healthcare is a Human Right issue team.

This is the best healthcare legislation in our nation’s history. Please do all you can to help us gain as many cosponsors as possible. Call Congress at 202-858-1717 to urge your Representative to cosponsor Rep. Jayapal’s Medicare For All Act. Please pitch in whatever you can afford to support our organizing for Medicare For All, so we can send Dr. Bill all around the USA to gain support for MFA. Along with giving, you can help by signing up to make a MFA letter drop. Contact to deliver a Medicare For All Letter to Your Congressperson. Also sign onto be a grassroots cosponsor of Rep. Jayapal’s Medicare For All Act.

P.S. We’re here to help you make progress in your state and locality! If you need help organizing a new PDA chapter or energizing your existing chapter, please contact PDA Field Coordinator Dan O’Neal. Join the PDA Phone Team making easy, effective calls from your own home with Mike “Phone Guy” Fox. Also please pitch in $1000, $100, or whatever you can afford to support our organizing for Medicare For All.
