In the post-insurrection US, air travel remains safe if no one storms the flight deck
One incident occurred just hours ago as a flight gets diverted to OKC because a passenger wanted to step outside.

So BEFORE he got the standard invite to an event at the Capitol, he went to the Capitol to scope it out, including where the Proud Boys would gather and a side trip to down closer to where Capitol Police would be responding to bombs the next day.
