Received this e-mail yesterday from U.S. Senator Brian Schatz (D. HI) in support of Theresa Greenfield’s (D. IA) U.S. Senate campaign:
Theresa Greenfield (D. IA)
It has really been amazing to watch people come together as a community. And although we’re not out of the woods yet, it has been a nice reminder that when we work together, we can actually make real change.
I think the same thing about the fight for the Senate this year. One race in particular where grassroots support could go a long way isTheresa Greenfield’s in Iowa.
This race is essentially tied, and Republicans have already committed over $12 million.
I know about close races. And I’m telling you from personal experience that, in one this close, people chipping in a few dollars can add up to a game-changing moment.
Theresa grew up on a farm in Iowa, and she juggled multiple jobs to keep her family afloat during tough times. She knows we need to protect Medicare and Social Security to keep families out of poverty. She knows no one should have to skip a doctor’s appointment because they’re worried they won’t be able to afford the bill. She believes in science and knows climate change poses a real threat to future generations.
